Community Preservation Committee Minutes of July 30, 2008

The first meeting of the Community Preservation Committee ( CPC) met on Wednesday, July 30, at 7:30~p.m.~in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at Hanson town hall. First order of business was for each member to introduce him/herself. In attendance were:

William Clay, representing the Parks and Fields Commission
Allan Clemons, representing the Historical Commission
Laura Fitzgerald Kemmett, as citizen-at-large
David Harris, as citizen-at-large
John Kemmett, representing the Conservation Commission
Philip Lindquist ,representing the Planning Board
Patty Norton, as citizen-at-large
Robert Sears, representing the Housing Authority
Bill Strait, as citizen-at large

A discussion of what the committee would set out to do followed the introductions. The operating procedures of various other communities which have a CPC were mentioned. Bob Sears told the group that Stuart Saginor from the Community Preservation Coalition had contacted him and was available to to instruct us on what was needed to fulfill the guidelines and regulations of the Community Preservation Act. It was hoped that he would be available for our next meeting. The need to organize by electing a slate of officers was the next order of business. After a brief discussion the following were elected unanimously: Robert Sears, Chairperson, Patricia Norton, Vice-Chairperson, David Harris, Clerk. It was decided that the next meeting would be on Wednesday, August 20, at 7~p.m.~in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at the Hanson Town hall.
The meeting adjourned at 8:40~p.m.
